TO LOVE IS CHRIST

Until faith and until she came along

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3 NKJV

I HAD NOT BEEN FAITHFUL TO ANYONE. It was a bad habit. I never really thought about it. Or cared. But that was then. A life ago. This is now, after years of surrender. Christ was the start, the turnstile, my school, my boarding place. I had, from childhood, acquired the skill of engagement but with my motor humming, to engage and yet be fully in control, to be in and to be out at the same time. I learned the great secret of being in a constant state of preflight. There was no faith in me, except in the mutability of all things, in the inconstancy and in the brevity of relationships. There was no faith in me except for the knowledge that all things change rapidly, that at best you are alone. I had created and lived within the great fiction of my life, that I was not faithful, nor capable of being faithful to anyone. Until Christ. Until faith. And until she came along.

In Christ, this big life and the faith to live it, Amen

May faith come easier than you suspect,
the step and not the leap.
